Product Description The Dean Playmate JT 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar is the perfect instrument for the beginning child. The JT includes a gig bag. Features include a traditional, set neck, chrome hardware, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 18 frets, and a satin natural finish.About Dean Guitars - A Quick History Lesson...Dean Guitars was born in 1976, in the attic of the Chicago suburban childhood home of company founder Dean B. Zelinsky. The eighteen-year-old Zelinsky was convinced that guitar design and manufacturing had hit a wall. Rock music was huge and guitar makers were failing to keep up with the times. The world was ready for a guitar that looked, played, and sounded superior to what was available from manufacturers at that time. Zelinsky had a better idea. What followed was a line of electric guitars that for the first time allowed players to play to their potential. With its highly visible V-shaped headstock and trademark wing logo, Dean became in effect, the first boutique guitar line in the history of rock music. These guitars had to be played to be believed, and played they were! Dean guitars started showing up on rock stages worldwide, album covers, and especially on the newly emerging channel calledMTV. Dean Guitars were featured in the award-winningMTV Video of the Yearthree of the first four years running. By the time Dean created the famousSpinning Fur GuitarsDean's early place in Rock history was firmly cemented.Over a quarter century later, you can still buy that same USA made boutique Dean Guitar. Today, Dean Guitars has taken that same concept of creating a superior instrument to a whole new level. Dean is now a full line of fretted instruments including electric and acoustic guitars, basses, jazz guitars, resonators, banjos and mandolins. More importantly, Dean is dedicated to delivering these fine quality instruments at a value that is second to none.-- No longer do you need to be a platinum

Very happy with this Dean PlayMate. I bought it for my 8 year old niece and it fit her perfectly. Great guitar for her. Just what she wanted. Great deal with Amazon.
Perfect for 8 year old December 9, 2009 b mcg (Hattiesburg, MS) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is the perfect size for an 8 year old. I was really worried about getting one too big or too small without being able to see and hold this before ordering it. I feel certain he will get a few good years of playing (or learning to play) on this guitar before we have to buy a larger one.
The quality on it is great as well. My husband already tuned it and played a few chords...I'm completely tone deaf, but he said it was great!
Guitar teacher loved it. March 19, 2010 Ana L. Crane (New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this guitar for my son who was dying to get in on his dads guitar class at school.
My husband took it tuned it and decided that he wanted to trade guitars because he loved this one so much. He was joking of course about the trade because it would look strange for a 240 pound man playing a 3/4 size guitar.
It works.... mostly May 17, 2010 Ender Wiggin (Loma Linda, CA USA) The guitar is functional. Sounds like a toy and the strings hit the frets during playing. It's not a serious instrument but it's good enough to teach a child to play on I think.
Horrible sound July 28, 2010 Mark Loth (CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After purchasing this guitar at Amazon My daughter really didn't like it compared to my sons guitar. I would never recomend it.
